Yesterday, many European and English-speaking countries celebrated April Fools' Day, known in some countries (such as France and Italy) as April Fish Day. This festival dedicated to jokes seems to have originated in France in the mid-sixteenth century and now has a significant following. Individuals, and more strikingly large media companies, seize the opportunity to play a joke or hoax, run fake news stories, or announce some crazy new idea.
We thought it would be fun to put together some of the most talked about April Fools from yesterday, thought up by companies like Google, Twitter, Vimeo, YouTube and BMW, among others. Did you come across or hear about any others? Share them with us in a comment.
