After 5 years, Designkitchen.com needed a facelift! The previous site was no longer reflective of our existing portfolio or rapid growth. Additionally, it was built in Flash, which made it extremely difficult for ongoing updates. Our objective was to create something that is truly reflective of DK - the work, the people and the culture. Oh, and also provided a simple way to maintain the content. Since recreating an agency web site is no easy feat, Designkitchen focused its energy on transforming what had previously been an impersonal experience into a dynamic crash course on DK culture, using real-time social media feeds such as Twitter and a blog as well as a stunning reel to allow visitors to “peer in” the windows of its Chicago office and its people. The solution was future-proof allowing us to easily update content with flexible expanding modules and pages all supported by a back-end content management system. Not only does it aggregate our social content to keep it continually fresh, it is also a beautiful, fluid design system across desktop, mobile and tablet.
