10 questions for Zack Bonebrake:

  • What did you do before becoming a designer/developer?

I went to school for business, design and architecture, but I started coding in the 3rd grade. Development is something I have just always done. Really, development was just something I fell into from the start.  We had a computer lab that we visited twice a week starting around the 3rd grade.  They taught us rudimentary BASIC and I was hooked. I have been writing code in some capacity since that point.

  • Which developers do you follow or are an inspiration to you?

I follow many different developers in many different contexts. Some famous, some not at all. A few names that spring to mind are Alex Payne, Ryan Dahl, Brendan Eich, but there are many many others.

  • Which programming languages do you use on a daily basis?

Javscript, Python, Ruby almost daily for all three.

  • Who do you side with: Team Mac or Team PC?

Right now I work on a Mac simply because with virtualization I can do work for all platforms from one platform.  This is a wonderful thing. I also sometimes use a lenovo machine running ubuntu, but that is a bit more rare these days.

40-50 on work work, an additional 10-20 on other fun things.

  • Do you listen to music while you work? Describe your playlist.

I listen to a pretty wide variety of stuff, everyone in the office uses Rdio so we listen to each others stations all the time.  Also I used to be a House DJ so EDM is something that is always on my radar.
