React Developer with a good eye for taste, and care for design wanted.
Location: On-site preferred - Remote OK
Type: Contract
Startup Environment: Fast-paced, collaborative, and design-driven
About the Role:
We’re looking for a UX/Frontend React Developer who not only writes clean, efficient code but also has a strong design sensibility—someone who can bridge the gap between beautiful interfaces and functional, scalable frontend architecture. You’ll be working closely with the founding team to shape the product’s look, feel, and usability while ensuring a smooth, performant user experience.
This is a “multiple hats” role—you’ll be doing everything from original UI/UX design (wireframes, prototypes, design systems) to building pixel-perfect React components and optimizing frontend performance. If you love owning the full design-to-development cycle and thrive in a startup where reliability and initiative are key, this is for you.
What You’ll Do:
✅ Design & UX Ownership:
- Create original, tasteful UI designs (wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes).
- Develop and maintain a cohesive design system (typography, color, spacing, components).
✅ Frontend Development:
- Build responsive, performant React applications (Next.js, TypeScript preferred).
- Write clean, maintainable code with a focus on reusability and scalability.
- Optimize frontend performance (SSR, code splitting, lazy loading).
- Collaborate with backend devs on API integration & state management (React Query, Zustand, etc.).
✅ Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work directly with founders to define product vision and iterate quickly.
- Occasionally assist with light graphic design (social media, presentations, branding).
Who You Are:
✔ A hybrid designer-developer – You’re as comfortable in Figma as you are in VS Code.
✔ Strong aesthetic sense – You obsess over typography, spacing, and micro-interactions.
✔ Startup mentality – You’re scrappy, proactive, and OK with ambiguity.
✔ Problem-solver – You think in systems, not just pixels or code.
✔ Reliable & detail-oriented – Your work is polished, tested, and production-ready.
Requirements:
- 3+ years in frontend development (React, TypeScript).
- Deep knowledge of Tailwind CSS/Figma.
- Experience with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
- Portfolio showing both design work and live projects (GitHub, Figma links, or live sites).
- Bonus: Experience with animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP).
- Bonus: Backend familiarity (Node.js, REST/GraphQL APIs).
Why Join?
✨ Own the product’s design & frontend – Your work will directly shape the company.
✨ Fast growth – As an early hire, you’ll have leadership opportunities.
✨ Flexible & autonomous – We trust you to make the right calls.
