Lead Product Designer

FULL-TIME REMOTE

We're looking for a product designer with a creative edge beyond interfaces and a strong desire to develop other designers to work on exciting digital transformation projects.

Salary: £70k - 85k

Contract: Full-time with flexible hours considered

Location: Remote-first / Hybrid / London-based office all considered

Who we are:

We’re an independent digital product studio of 50+ friendly and focused individuals, with an international client list of global brands, ranging from Retail (Gap, Levi Strauss) and Financial Services (UBS, ANZ) to Media (Channel 4, BBC, Harper Collins) and Education (Wall Street English, BBC Bitesize, British Council). 

Our unique approach is based on forming long term partnerships with our clients to deliver change that matters, collaborating and co-creating with our clients and delivering real products to life with a tightly integrated full stack design-engineering team.
 

The purpose of this role:

  • Launch beautiful and usable products that deliver measurable value and propel the digital transformation to our client's business.
  • Inspire our clients and the team to create products and experiences by taking an active interest in the design, learning from the rest of the team and sharing your knowledge with the broader team and community.
  • Help us create a culture of good design through mentoring and pushing our designers to grow, sharing your knowledge and keeping up to date with design methodologies, tools, practices and aesthetics.
  • Be an ambassador for the Reason values inside and outside of Reason.

What you might do in this role:

  • Explore concepts, ideas and systems for digital products with artefacts like sketches, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, mood boards and whatever else helps you get to the right idea.
  • Interpret our clients' brand and purpose, bringing these elements to life through digital product experiences that captivate our audience.
  • Communicate your ideas, help the team communicate theirs through compelling narrative and storytelling.
  • Validate and iterate design concepts through experimentation, measuring usability, considering market analysis and balance against technical constraints/opportunities
  • Prototype to bring product and service concepts alive, explain interaction, movement and functionality.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring useful and inspiring products to life, while working productively to quickly resolve challenges.
  • Elevate visual design standards.

 

We want to hear from you if:

  • You’ve got significant experience designing digital products and services as part of a team of designers and engineers.
  • You have experience leading and mentoring other designers.
  • You can advocate and explain your work and decisions in a clear and inspiring way to designers, clients and experts.
  • You know how to respond to feedback on your work and on your approach.
  • You take a collaborative approach to design, but can take ownership of decisions when you need to.
  • You have experience working as part of an Agile team.
  • You enjoy working directly with stakeholders shaping their strategy and delivering real products.
  • You think you’d enjoy working with data-driven tools and like untangling the complexity of large digital transformation projects.
  • You are eligible to work permanently in the UK (sorry, that’s not us, that’s the Home Office).
