"Please Call Me Champ" is a freelancer who created the IP of the same name under the identity of a studio. Champ Panupong Techawongthawon, known simply as Champ, is a motion designer from Thailand currently based in Los Angeles.
When we started looking into Champ’s previous website, we noticed it had a lot of colors and elements. During our initial discussions with Champ, he said he wanted a sleek, modern style — but for the most part, he left everything up to us to provide him with options.

“Driven by a passion for abstract art and striking visuals, every piece isn't just animation, it's art in motion.”

The Creative Process
From the very beginning, it was clear that a static, grid-based layout wouldn’t do justice to Champ’s creative world. His work thrives in motion. Each piece is bold, dynamic, and full of personality. The challenge wasn't about creating a portfolio that looks good — it was about building an experience that moves like Champ's work does.
When we took on the redesign of Champ's website, we approached it less like a typical website project and more like a motion storytelling platform. Every detail from typography to the interactive layering, was designed to echo his playful yet precise style. We wanted visitors to feel like they were stepping into his universe, where design lives in motion and type speaks with its own voice.
He needed something more than a gallery of stills or case studies. He needed a platform that captured the spirit of his process, a site that felt as alive and responsive as the animations themselves. Our goal with the redesign of Champ's website was to translate that energy into a digital experience.

Creating movement, not just arrangement
There's something oddly calming about watching a grid come to life — like witnessing order take a breath. What starts as a system of lines and logic slowly begins to move, respond, evolve. We've spent countless hours adjusting easing curves, timing, and observing how the smallest changes ripple through the entire structure. It's technical work, but it's also deeply meditative.
And along the way, it stopped being just about how things looked. It became about how they felt. The focus shifted from layout to rhythm, from visuals to experience, That's when we realized, we weren't just designing. We were composing motion, we were shaping a rhythm.

More than a website, it’s a crafted experience.
This isn't just a portfolio, it's a living expression of Champ's creative journey, told through the language of motion and design. Every corner of the site is carefully considered, not just as a showcase, but as a fully immersive experience. From the moment you land on the page, you're invited into a world shaped by rhythm, bold structure, and kinetic storytelling.
The design doesn't rely on static grids or traditional layouts. It moves, reacts, breathes with intention. Each element has a purpose, guiding you through a seamless narrative that captures both the energy of his personal experiments and the polish of his commercial campaigns. Whether you're diving into a collaborative animation for a global brand, or exploring a motion, the site doesn't just present the work. It frames it in a way that reflects who Champ is a designer, a thinker, and a storyteller.
In that way, the site becomes more than a digital portfolio. It's a manifesto in motion; a curated, dynamic space where identity, experimentation, and creative mastery converge. Every transition, interaction, and visual reflects his perspective: bold, intentional, and constantly in motion.
Technologies and development
The development was built using JavaScript, WebGL, and CSS for the front end. We used Prismic as our go-to CMS, connected via Bun JavaScript. For deployment, we’re using an empty droplet provided by Contabo.
