  • French photographer, Emmanuel Pierrot, cleverly captures a magical, imaginary universe, giving in an insight into his reality of nature.

    Bio:

    Domesticated hen tamer, ladybird breeder, occasional gardener, gourmet and chef in his kitchen … Emmanuel Pierrot seems to have many tricks up his sleeve.

    Yet, the maestro has been above all a distinguished photographer since he was a child. When he was still a teenager, his idealized pictures appeared in the local newspaper La liberté de l’Est : weddings, frolicking vacationers, gloomy news items… his curious mind picked up everything.

    A guild certified photographer, an alumni of the Metz School of Fine Arts, he went on to work with James Wocjik in New York. There he started focusing on object staging and tried his hand at still life, a hazardous and sometimes boring exercise.

    He shoots everyday life’s objects (…zzz…). His use of a combination of unusual materials, concepts and colours give them a poetic freshness ( houra !).

    Back in France, he joins the Vu agency and starts his own studio. He works for many Libération and LeMonde ,Technikart, Sunday Times, Philosophie Magazine, …

    The advertising world wants him (he signs campaigns for Orange, Weston, Shu Uemura, Martini…). Villeneuve d’Ascq National Theater asks him to design its new visual identity. Gallimard, Albin Michel and Balland have him illustrate their best-sellers covers.

    He exhibits and show his work in many places such , Glassbox , Picto, Rencontres internationales d’Arles… ;and from the 7 april to the 20 of may at galerie du pont neuf in Paris.

    Today, his eye keeps structuring his stories. Emmanuel Pierrot nurtures his art in his studio in Saint-Ouen in the sun while the master fiddles with his lenses.

    Emmanuel is taking time to share is sensitive point of view by teaching photography in les Beaux arts de Quimper, arts apliqués and in university of Paris8 as resident teacher for two years.

    His amused eye on reality gives it a surrealistic outlook and his contemporaries enjoy it since, as Strinberg said, life is a huge self deprecating event.
