Daan Klaver
Daan is founder and creative director of award winning design and development shop Build in Amsterdam.
During his studies at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute he took an internship as a Junior Art Director at an advertising agency. He immediately fell in love with the work and two weeks later they offered him a job, so he quit college. After working at national and international agencies as an Art Director/Designer for almost a decade, he started working privately under the name of Vandaan. This award winning studio was transformed into Build in Amsterdam in 2013. In their very first year Build in Amsterdam was nominated Agency of the Year, being the only Dutch delegate that year. Daan is a fascinating combination of a sensitive family man, a trained MMA fighter and a recognized custom motorcycle builder.

What did you do before becoming a designer/developer?
I was a paperboy, pizza delivery guy, and a one time bouncer.

Mostly Awwwards and Pinterest.

My favorite design agency are Toko and ...,staat. And Online agency's.. Hello Monday

I'm a long time McGuy. But not a big fan as I was.

All technologies that add value to Branding, Design and functionality.

I do not work. I only have hobby's.

There is always music playing in our office. I mostly listen to Indie Electronic, Rap & R&B.
