Charis Tsevis is a visual designer from Athens, Greece. Trained in Munich and Milan, he currently runs his own small studio in Athens, from which he works for clients around the world. Small but significant, since among its clients are large multinational companies like Nike, PepsiCo, Toyota and IKEA, advertising agencies such as TBWA Chiat Day, Saatchi & Saatchi LA, DDB Munich and Leo Burnett Hong Kong, and media like Time, Fortune, Wired and the Wall Street Journal. His work has been recognized with prestigious awards in Europe and the United States such as the ED Awards, Epica Awards, NPSA, Behance, etc..
In addition to this, he speaks at international conferences and symposia such as the International Conference on Typography and Visual Communication, TEDxAthens and Adobe D-Day among others, and has worked for over 15 years as Professor of Editorial Design and Typography at AKTO College of Art and Design.
Today we want to highlight his digital pictures and portraits, which have been frequently used in books, magazines and websites around the world. The mosaic compositions use any type of component to portray characters on covers and articles in a very striking and lucid technique. Among his creations we can see a Hugh Laurie made with tablets and pills, a Steve Jobs created from all kinds of Apple gadgets, or even a pop Warhol in a redundancy of himself. Darwin, Michael Jordan, the Obamas, Florence Welch, Mark Zuckenberg, Shaq or Amy Winehouse have not escaped his technique.
