Robby Leonardi

Leonardi is multidisciplinary designer based in New York City. He does illustration, graphic design, animation, and front-end development.

Most of his projects are from major media companies, such as Fox, Speed TV, FX Networks, myNetworkTV, and G4. His work has been featured in Web Designer magazine, Net magazine, Mashable, Fast Company, CNet, The Next Web, Business Insider and Kotaku. He also has received many design awards such as the FWA, Awwwards, CSS Design Awards and CSS Winner.

  • What did you do before becoming a designer/developer?

    I was an architect and an interior designer.

  • Which developers do you follow or are an inspiration to you?

    I like a programmer who creates visual effect so Ricardo Cabello aka Mr. Doob is my favorite one.

  • Which programming languages do you use on a daily basis?

    I use HTML, CSS, Javascript and JQuery.

  • Who do you side with: Team Mac or Team PC?

    Team Mac.

  • Do you usually go to conferences? Which ones do you prefer?

    No, I rarely go to conferences.

  • Which technologies are you excited about?

    Right now I am learning WebGL and Arduino. Both of them are really exciting.

  • How many hours do you work each week?

    I work 40 hours for my full-time job and I also work around 20 hours for my side job.

  • Do you listen to music while you work? Describe your playlist.

    I rarely listen to music while I work. If I do, they will be just random pop songs from iTunes radio.

  • Which books would you recommend as a must-read?

    I don’t really have favorite book. I am not sure why, either I am very picky or I never read a very good book :)

  • What is your favorite sport?

    I enjoy running and watching NBA basketball.
