The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-sufficient Junior Designer to join Active Theory. This role is primarily focused on PR content creation (design and motion) and supporting pitches and active projects with high-quality design execution.

You’ll work closely with Creative Directors and senior designers to translate concepts into compelling visual and motion-based assets. This is an execution-focused role designed to help you build strong foundations in UX/UI, typography, web design, and motion while gaining exposure to world-class interactive work.

Core Responsibilities

PR Content (Design + Motion)

  1. Design visual and motion-based assets for PR, marketing, and studio-facing content
  2. Support the creation of polished layouts, visuals, and short motion pieces that reflect Active Theory’s creative standards

Pitch & Project Support

  1. Support pitch teams by producing layouts, UX explorations, moodboards, and motion comps
  2. Contribute design assets to active projects under the direction of senior designers and Creative Directors
  3. Design & ExecutionCreate UX/UI layouts, visual designs, and website concepts using Figma
  4. Produce strong typographic layouts with attention to hierarchy, spacing, and readability
  5. Support website and interactive design efforts across desktop and mobileCreate basic motion studies and animations using Adobe After Effects

Collaboration & Feedback

  1. Collaborate closely with Creative Directors and designers to understand briefs and translate ideas into clear visual output
  2. Actively seek feedback and iterate on work to improve quality and craft
  3. Work alongside designers and developers to ensure creative alignment

Organization & Growth

  1. Manage time effectively and deliver work within deadlines
  2. Ask thoughtful questions to clarify briefs and expectations
  3. Show curiosity and a desire to continuously improve design and motion skills

What Success Looks Like

  1. The work feels cohesive, intentional, is confidently designed and consistently meets highest industry standards
  2. Teammates experience optimistic collaboration and consistent quality of output
  3. Performance at conceptual through final delivery parts of the project

Requirements

  1. 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally at a digital agency
  2. Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite & After Effects
  3. Strong understanding of web and mobile design principlesExcellent communication and collaboration skills
  4. A willingness to learn and tackle a new challenge with every new project or briefAbility to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
