When you submit a website for an Awwward, you will be asked to provide the following information: 1) Website name, 2) URL, 3) Description, 4) Category, 5) Stucture, 6) Colors, 7) Screenshot, 8) Tags, 9) Designer, 10) Designer URL, 11) Country. This information will be published on our site and we reserve the right to use it in other publications produced by Awwwards. By submitting your site, you indicate your acceptance of these conditions.

We collect some information such as: 1) Pages visited, 2) Click stream data and 3) Other browsing information, for administrative purposes and to improve our website and services.

Cookies: This website does not use cookies, but it does use third party technologies which employ them to provide useful features and services. Cookies identify a user's computer, not the individual user. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. Evaluation system:

By submitting a site for an Awwward, you confirm that you have read and accept the following and agree to accept the outcome of the vote based on our Evaluation system and criteria.

Our intention is to be fair when evaluating each website submitted for an Awwward, so we’ve created an evaluation system based on 4 criteria: Design, Creativity, Usability and Content.

Submission Process

When a user submits a website to Awwwards, it must first be approved by our team, who check it meets the minimum requirements to be sent to the jury. This takes approximately 24 to 72 hours.

Users should note that by submitting a site Awwwards does not guarantee you will receive a score from the judges. Only sites awarded “Site of the Day” will receive their scores, by means of their publication on our website.

Nominees and Voting System

Once a site has been approved, an e-mail notification is automatically dispatched and the site is added to the Awwwards nominees section.

The nominee is sent to the Awwwards jury and given a score by 8 judges. The vote furthest from the average is deleted automatically, so only the other 7 votes count.

All users can take part in the voting. However, only votes by users with over 1000 Status Points (Honorary Members) count towards the site’s final score. The weighted average of these user votes forms the eighth vote that makes up the score. The whole process takes 10 days.

Users should note that a nomination from Awwwards does not guarantee you will receive a score from the judges. Only sites awarded “Site of the Day” will receive their scores, by means of their publication on our website.

Evaluation System

Our evaluation system is based on 4 criteria: Design (D), Creativity (C), Usability (U) and Content (CO).
Our system collects the judges’ scores and applies the following algorithm in order to obtain the final score:

Honorable Mention

Once voting is completed, websites awarded a 6.5 or above by our users will receive an Honorable Mention. This special honor brings greater visibility and prestige with an entry in our Honorable Mentions section. Receiving an Honorable Mention also carries 250 points to increase your Status on Awwwards.

“Site of the Day”

Once the voting process is complete, the Awwwards team selects the sites with the highest scores and looks for an available day in the calendar to schedule their appearance as SOTD. An e-mail notification is automatically dispatched to give you the big news.

There is no minimum score to be considered for “Site of the Day”. You should remember that your site will be in competition with all other nominees over a 3 month period. If after this period the site has not been selected, you will automatically receive an e-mail notification letting you know your site will not be “Site of the Day”.

“Sites of the Day” will be seen within hours by thousands of designers, programmers, bloggers and agencies worldwide. Winners will also be included in our book "The 365 Best Css Websites Around The World”, and will be added to our Winners section. Achieving a “Site of the Day” carries 250 points to increase your Status on Awwwards.

“Site of the Month”

The 5 highest-scoring sites in each month are nominated for “Site of the Month” and reviewed by the jury a second time. The judges vote for their favorite of the 5 nominees.

The site with the most votes is named “Site of the Month” and automatically nominated for “Site of the Year”.

“Site of the Year” and “Designer/ Agency of the Year”

All winners of “Site of the Month” are automatically nominated for “Site of the Year”. The Awwwards team also selects a further 3 nominees from the “Site of the Day” winners.

These nominees are entered in two competitions:

“Site of the Year”: Chosen by the Awwwards jury
The judges vote for their favorite site among the 15 nominees.
“Site of the Year (Users’ Choice)”: Chosen by all our users
Every Awwwards user can take part by voting for their favorite.

The Awwwards team also selects 10 nominees for “Designer/ Agency of the Year” based on work produced throughout the year. The winner is chosen by the jury, who review the nominees’ work and vote for their favorite.
