Senior Visual Designer

Location: Southampton
Salary: Circa £45,000, plus bonus and excellent benefits
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Role summary

We are looking for a Senior Visual Designer with around 5 years front-end digital design experience to provide creative ownership of our visual interactive brand, and design a range of B2B and B2C products across desktop / mobile web and mobile / tablet applications.

You will work with the Head of Mobile to implement user-centred design as part of our existing product development process. This is about more than maps; it’s about building a delightful user experience across all our products including websites, mobile apps and online services. With an understanding of responsive or cross platform design, your deliverables will include scamps, mockups, screen and interface designs, design rules and light prototypes. You will also be responsible for maintaining and developing OS brand specifications for all products to ensure the Ordnance Survey portfolio is consistent and meets quality and business standards.

You’ll need to be prepared to hit the ground running so you can have an impact from week one. Essential knowledge and skills

  • Good skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and any other design and visualisation tools
  • Good track record of using analytics to inform design decisions
  • Good track record of adding value at the visual design stage to product specifications and functional wire frames
  • Demonstrable record in creating and adapting brands and identities to online and mobile
