Party For Your Rights! This is an exciting online educational tool developed as part of a new Youth Consumer Rights Campaign for Consumer Affairs Victoria (Australian, Governmental Dept). The campaign objective was to educate young Victorians on their rights as consumers. The challenge was to come up with a concept that would appeal to the youth market. The concept: An online game, in which users have to 'plan' a series of increasingly elaborate parties. In the planning of these parties (by ticking items off a list), users encounter scenarios outlined by Consumer Affairs Victoria, which help them to understand their consumer rights. Visually the game has an 'old school', analogue style, resembling a late 80s video game. That combined with extensive character animations to generate humor, allowed for greater engagement and campaign take-up.
