Every new creation we see is a mix of previous works. For some this use of existing materials to create something new, whether it’s conscious or not, is called stealing, for others is called inspiration. Truth is, there is nothing new under the sun. New technologies had made it easy for everyone to become a director, a photographer, a musician… everybody can create, but not everybody is capable of doing so from scratch. Instead, a new form of art had emerged in the last decade, the mashup, which basically consists of a derivative work from different pieces made by others.
